There’s a Revolution, yeah… It’s been a really busy couple of months since I was last in touch as I’ve been with The Cult taking part in the Revolution 3 tour along with Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. The concept, created in conjunction Live Nation, was to have three great bands play arena shows with each one playing for 1 hour and revolving the running order. It sounds a bit complicated but with a great bunch of guys behind the scenes (for all three bands) it soon got into a groove. What was great for us all was the opportunity… Read the full article.
. Well, I’ve had a great few weeks since my last update including some fantastic shows and amazing experiences re-living some of my childhood passions… read on… Last minute show… At the start of the year I had planned to spend the whole of June back in the UK and doing some promotion work in prep for the headline show at Rambin’ Man but we were offered a great show headlining a night at the San Diego County Fair on 13th. Most of the time our shows are planned months in advance but very occasionally one like this will come… Read the full article.
Tour news… more dates added… Since I was last in touch 7 more dates have been added to the Revolution 3 triple headliner tour that sees The Cult heading out with with both Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. That brings it to a total of 27 shows across the whole of North America this summer… plus we’re doing two shows in the US on our own and two dates in Europe including our headline slot at Ramblin’ Man Festival in the UK. We’ve also played a couple of one off shows including Rock n Roar at the Toyota Rally at Long Beach… Read the full article.
There’s a Revolution coming … As I’ve been hinting at for a while there was a whole bunch of live shows being lined up for this year but it can take time to get organised. What I couldn’t share was the reason this tour was so much more complicated was because it’s a triple headliner that sees The Cult heading out across the US both Sone Temple Pilots AND Bush! I think now you’ll understand why it’s been so complicated getting sorted and Tom (our manager) said “Just emails for this tour is 7500, not to mention calls, meetings, etc. …even getting… Read the full article.
Moving home & moving on ‘Memory-billy-a’… Well, we’re a couple of months into the year and it probably seems like I’ve had my feet up as it’s been all quiet on the “west coast” front 😉 Actually, despite not being out there ‘work wise’ I’ve been super busy on a personal front as I’ve been moving home. I’ve not moved far (pretty close to my old place actually) but anyone who has been through this will know it’s one of life’s major hassles. One thing it really does is make you take stock of all your “stuff” as you sort… Read the full article.

Thanks for the Love South America So, I’m finally back home after our South American expedition… 25 days… 18 flights… 11 shows & 5 countries! I have spent my ‘working’ life feeling blessed that I get to tour the world doing something I love, but as any musician will tell you there’s a lot of hanging around on a tour! What makes it all worth while, though, is getting out there on stage and doing it… and when that comes together with a great crowd it can be magical. The unbridled passion we experienced from the fans on this tour… Read the full article.
Me, Morrissey & Manchester… Just released in the UK is a great new film called ‘England is Mine’ that tells the story of Morrissey’s teenage years. As I’d played together with him in a band at the time I was invited to be involved as a consultant on the new film as well as providing some incidental music. To co-incide with the release I’ve done an interview exclusively for www.billyduffy.comalongside actor Adam Lawrence who plays me in the film… and you can read it here… Me, Morrissey & Manchester South American Here We Come… It now just a month until The Cult gang head… Read the full article.
Thanks Europe… I have to say I’ve had an amazing time over the last few weeks in Europe. Each of the countries we visited had their own beauty and lovely cities but one thing remained the same… the crowds who were amazing. Being based in America it can make it much harder than we would like to play around the world but rest assured when we can we do! The band are on fire at the moment and I think I’m playing as well as I ever had so it’s quite hard to pick out a highlight but if you… Read the full article.
