Hanging with mates… NAMM… book news & more

Hi

So the holiday season has come and gone and we’re getting into 2017 good and proper now.
I had a great time back in England for a couple of weeks and it was really busy as I split my time between London and Manchester for some sightseeing and shopping with the family.
Whilst I was back in my hometown I always try to catch up with Johnny as well as take in a City match so it was ace that I was able to combine the two as I was a guest speaker before the game against Burnley and we both enjoyed seeing a blues win!
Whilst in the North I also took a trip over to Liverpool to see Mike & Jules who were in the studio with The Alarm… James Stevenson was there too so we had a very pleasant evening watching some football on TV topped off with a nice curry with all the guys. A few people have asked if my trip meant I was getting involved with the recording or did it mean that Coloursound would be playing at Mike’s ‘Gathering’ festival coming soon… well the answer is that I’m over here in California so won’t be at ‘The Gathering’ (other than in spirit) and whilst there’s no Coloursound plans at the moment both Mike and I would like to do something when the time is right so watch this space on that one!
Back in London I managed to have another rock n roll and football night by combining watching City win in the FA Cup on TV and then jam with a long time few guys including my other Pistol mate!

Back at NAMM

As well as being an annual event for the music instrument business world my yearly trip to the NAMM show in Anaheim has become my first big date in the calendar.
This year was no exception and whilst I didn’t have any new signature gear to shout about it was great to get there to check out what’s happening as well as spend some time meeting lots of great people during my signing sessions with both VOX and Ernie Ball. If you made it down it was great to see you and if not there’s always next year 😉

Back on the Road

This is a small update as despite my diary filling up already with planned shows, as always I can’t announce anything until we’ve crossed the t’s and dotted the i’s. Trust me there’ll be some news soon from both Kings of Chaos and The Cult so keep following me on InstagramFacebook and Twitter and you’ll get the heads up.

And remember the best place for official Cult news on shows is at www.thecult.us

Read all about it…

Over the years I’ve had a lot of people ask why I haven’t written an autobiography and in truth I’ve just never felt the time was right. BUT why would I need to when all my mates seem to be doing theirs and including me in the story… last year stated with me showing up in the Morrissey one and culminated in me having a bit part in Slim Jim’s ‘A Stray Cat Strut’, Jonesy’s ‘Lonely Boy’ and even more in Johnny’s ‘Set The Boy Free’ which also features a picture of the teenage me in a very fetching pink shirt!

Teenage Kicks

When I saw people posting online lists of the albums that influenced them in their teenage years I had to join in. It’s always hard to whittle down so much great vinyl into a short list but it was fun… and without these, who knows, maybe I wouldn’t have become a musician…
