The Cult Roskilde Festival t-Shirt 1987

“Roskilde was, and still is, a very important huge festival in Denmark… well run by people who actually love music and the bands are treated very well.
The second time we played was in 1987 and obviously somebody felt our appearance was worthy of this special t shirt.
We had played the previous year and it's interesting that the set, whilst from the period promoting the ‘Love’ album, also included ‘Peace Dog’ and ‘Love Removal Machine’ in it. That’s because it was around that time when we tried to record the follow up to ‘Love’ in the infamous Manor Sessions.
At the 87 show we opened the set with ‘Sanctuary’ AND ended it with the same tune as we felt we wanted people to know who we were! After the show we headed into Copenhagen to a club and that’s when things got a bit messy… and I ended up jumping up on stage and imitating ‘kazoo’ style the intro keyboard riff to ‘The Final Countdown’ by Europe, as they had headlined the festival that year. Though I blame The Mission cos they had played the festival too so and would have been involved in the booze fuelled shenanigans haha”
