“This photo appeared in Metal Hammer magazine in 1989 and was my mum’s copy as you can see she’d written Jamie & Billy on it.
It’s interesting as the image has been flipped (sometimes magazine would do that to suit the layout) and you can tell cos my tattoo is on the wrong arm! The ink was done by Bob Roberts at Spotlight in LA during a break on the Electric Tour in 1987. Haggis and Ian came down with me for moral support too 😉.
It was also the period when we tried to record ‘Soldier Blue’ as a stand alone single, but I think it only ever surfaced on Rare Cult.
I have a habit sometimes (or did) of blinking when being photographed which never looks good, so I think my startled expression was maybe an overcompensation. As for the very tanned look the less said the better 🤣🤣"
