“This beer can was produced in 1987 by our record label Sire to celebrate the launch of “Electric” in the States and I think one of our best items of promo material ever.
They gained legendary status in an era where record companies were fighting to get radio play and prime racking locations in record stops. This type of item was used to ‘grease the wheels’ and yes it was real beer inside... not sure which though. I’m told wheels were greased in the 1980s using other methods and substances too, but not to my knowledge by us.
Anybody who knows me well, knows that back in the days when I drank alcohol I was never much of a beer person… I kinda preferred the spirit world. I took after my dad in that regard and was then confirmed when I got to know (and hang out a lot with) Lemmy ;)”
They are still very collectable to this day amongst “Cult Addicts” and it always makes me laugh when I see one of these cans.”
