“In the time I was in Theatre of Hate we always seemed to be touring the Netherlands. This was in May 1982 and one of the later ones I did there with the band, as you can see Nigel on drums in the background. I must have played nearly every place bigger than a village by now in that country… always good fun and great crowds to this day when I visit with The Cult.
I’m rocking a sleeveless “Vive Le Rock” t-shirt as I tended to wear the odd bit of punk stuff as part of whatever ‘style’ I felt I had going on a budget of about zero pence, once I had blown all my cash on my OG (double cutaway ) White Falcon in the photo.
As with all Falcons of that era, I liked everything about it except the pickups (which were too weak) AND the fact it was the dreaded Stereo Version which meant I had to use a stereo guitar cable which was much harder to find (and expensive) than a standard one.
This guitar was probably better suited for country picking style as the split of the stereo (Guitar nerd alert) was between the bottom and top strings where you could send the bass strings to one amp or effect and the treble to another… however totally useless and unnecessary for me as I only owned one amp at that time haha”
