“In 2013 Gretsch created my first ever signature guitar, the G7593T Billy Duffy Falcon and this was followed by it’s Ltd Edition “Evil Twin” Black Falcon in 2015.
In 2024, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Cult, I partnered up with Gretsch again, this time with the release of the Limited Edition G8424TG Billy Duffy Signature Falcon.
Inspired by my original ‘Sanctuary’ Falcon, the G8424TG features a Vintage White nitrocellulose lacquer finish with gold sparkle binding and gold hardware. We used my favourite custom-wound Black Top™ Filter’Tron™ pickups, and Team BD designed a commemorative “8424” metal truss rod cover that also has the famous Gretsch Falcon logo. Ironically this had never appeared on one of the Falcons I play as usually featues on the pick guard, and I prefer to remove them from my guitars.
For the first time too, as a special bonus, I hand signed each guitar on the back of the headstock. They sold our super quick and like the “Evil Twin” much sort after beauties!”
