"This pic from RAW magazine is from one of the few shows I played in the band Vent in 1995. I had a fun time playing with them as they were a great bunch of lads... it was a sort of soft landing for me back in the UK when the Cult had broken up... fellow band member Mikes Hunt was in a similar position after his band The Wonder Stuff split in 1994.
Ian and I had actually been interviewed by Miles when he was working for MTV just before The Cult split. I then ran into him at the Phoenix festival when we were both camping and hanging out enjoying the bands... one thing led to another, and I just tried to help out the band with a little bit of lead guitar.
Oh, I also sang some backing vocals when we did a BBC Radio One session!!!
I always remember Miles telling me that he thought my voice sounded like Phil Oakey of the Human League, which I took as a positive as to this day I still have zero faith in what my voice sounds like hahaha”
