“In 1980 I joined the group Lonesome No More, fronted by Koula Kakoulli, whose sister was the wife of The Only One’s frontman Pete Perrett as well as the band’s manager.
Just before I joined I went to see them play the Music Machine in Camden and I was at the side of the stage at the VIP bar and I distinctly remember seeing Bon Scott there too which was also the night which he tragically died.
Once I’d joined we toured with The Only Ones as well as Wasted Youth but as we had day jobs it was a “weekend warrior” tour for us haha.
On this pic you can see one of the cassettes was recorderd at Red Bus in London and I remember Duran Duran were next door doing “Planet Earth”. I’d also seen them play a gig at the Venue in Victoria just before so was aware of them "coming up".
The track ‘Turned Insane’ was released as a single in April 1981 and became my second vinyl outing.”
