"This photo was taken backstage before one of my earliest shows playing with Theatre of Hate somewhere in Holland. I can't say 100% but it's likely that I was reading my “cheat sheets” that I'd created with the song structures. I kinda jumped right in at the deep end when I joined and went from a part time band guy playing short support sets to a proper full time longer set band member. So I did what I needed to do to remember the sometimes unusual arrangements of the TOH songs and even took the sheets onstage with me in the very early shows!"
