Hi So the holiday season has come and gone and we’re getting into 2017 good and proper now. I had a great time back in England for a couple of weeks and it was really busy as I split my time between London and Manchester for some sightseeing and shopping with the family. Whilst I was back in my hometown I always try to catch up with Johnny as well as take in a City match so it was ace that I was able to combine the two as I was a guest speaker before the game against Burnley and we… Read the full article.
A look back at my 2016… “I think it’s fair to say that 2016 has been a year that has been filled with a lot of sadness for many of you especially with the passing of so many truly inspirational people. There will be loads of Year End Reviews full of lists of these stories and whilst my life has been shaken by many of them too I’ve chosen to focus on all the great things from my year in the hope that we can take some positive vibes on into 2017… If it’s JANUARY then it must be NAMM!… Read the full article.
CHAOS, CHAOS & MORE CHAOS! Since my last message I’ve been busy creating CHAOS with Matt Sorum and the boys! The three nights in Vegas with the Kings of Chaos were storming and as you can see from the photo of me and Corey at the rehearsals we had a lot of fun! It’s weird cos a few people have said they thought we were the best covers band they’ve ever seen and I’ve had to put them right in that we’re a ‘Catalogue Band’ because we’ve not been covering other people’s songs we’ve been playing ones that we’ve all… Read the full article.
Hi… So, after the long flight from LA we arrived in New Zealand safely sad to hear about the two people that had died in the recent earthquake but glad that the dates were OK to go ahead and that we didn’t have to let our fans down. The two dates here have been amazing and a big thanks to everyone who came along and made the shows so special. Now it’s Grant’s homeland for the last ‘Alive In The Hidden City’ shows of 2016. We know that there have been a lot of disappointed people particularly in Europe and South… Read the full article.
Last ‘Alive in the Hidden City’ shows of 2016… So we’ve finally completed our last ‘Alive in the Hidden City’ dates in the US and I have to say a massive thanks to everyone who came along to one of the shows. It’s been amazing and the response to the songs both old and brand new has made all the travelling worth while! I’ve got a few weeks off now then we’re off to New Zealand and Australia for the last Cult shows of 2016. Due to some logistical issues and the fact that we got the opportunity to play… Read the full article.
Back on the road… It’s been a few weeks since the stadium shows in California with Guns n’ Roses and it’s great to be heading out again this week. Like I said last time it’s fun to play these stadium dates but the downside is we end up having to play shorter sets and often go on while its still light so I’m really looking forward to our own headline ‘Alive in the Hidden City’ dates New dates down under… Since the last update we’ve announced that we’re heading down under to play a few shows in Australia and New Zealand in November.… Read the full article.
Big arenas plus new dates… Throughout my career I’ve been lucky enough to play some of the biggest arenas and stages in the world and whilst sometimes playing onstage in front of a passionate crowd in a small sweaty club is magical it’s equally exciting to take our music to big crowds who might not know the songs so well. The few dates we just played with GnR were exactly like that and feeling the response to ‘Deeply Ordered Chaos’ up there with the ‘hits’ was special. Hopefully we’ve picked up a few new fans or even had some reconnect! After my… Read the full article.
Alive in the Hidden City – Canada Ever since we first travelled over from the UK to play in Toronto in 1984 we have always had a great time in Canada and really appreciated the special relationship with the fans there. So it’s been no surprise that the last couple of weeks were fantastic and nice to get back to a few towns we’ve not been to for a while. So massive thanks to everyone who came along to a show and hope to be back again soon. I also want to say a big thanks to the all Canadian… Read the full article.
I’ve been using Ernie Ball Slinky strings since the early 1980’s and they continue to be an important part of my guitar sound, both in the studio and live. This year Ernie Ball decided to honor that partnership by asking me to be one of a select few guitarists to feature in THE PURSUIT OF TONE, a new original documentary series they are producing in partnership with AT&T here in the States. The one hour episode features me with The Cult at an ‘Alive in the Hidden City’ show as well as talking about at my musical influences and life… Read the full article.
Alive in the Hidden City “I have to say a massive thanks to everyone who has caught one of our ‘Alive in the Hidden City’ shows this year and helped make them some of my favourite live times yet! I know it seems like I’ve been saying the same for the last couple of years but this tour really has been something special. I’m not sure what the magic ingredient is… the new songs… the new guys… my new gear… I suppose it’s a bit of it all. Don’t worry if we’ve not hit your location yet as we are… Read the full article.
